I’m at the point where I strongly believe Don Imus just likes to see his name in the news. Some people will do anything to try to stay relevant.

Months after returning to the radio with a pledge to mend the wounds caused by his comments about a women’s basketball team, Don Imus is once again defending on-air remarks regarding race.

During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones, Imus asked, “What color is he?”

Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is “African-American,” Imus responded: “There you go. Now we know.”

I’m a bit disappointed that one of my favorite Christian prayer websites is making a huge deal about whether or not Senator Barack Obama is really a Christian. Now I may get flack from my Christian friends, but in my opinion, I don’t think it matters a whole lot if he is Christian or not. Look at President George Bush, he is a Christian, and many people are disappointed with his leadership right about now.

No matter who will be our next President, I think they will have a hard time trying to ‘fix’ all the issues and problems that were left behind, started, and created under Bush leadership. I’m just saying…

But anyway, I have so much more to say about this, but I just got off work and I’m having a hard time getting my thoughts together. In the meantime, what do you think? Does it matter of our next president is Christian or not?

Apparently Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with the lung disease emphysema. How sad for this 24 year old woman with such an incredible voice. It’s unfortunate that there are women in the music industry today who are getting all the recognition, but can’t sing and then there are women like Amy Winehouse who has been blessed with this great talent, and she throws it down the toilet. My music listening consists of mostly gospel music, but for the few times when I do listen to secular music, she was one that I really liked. Maybe this is the ‘wake up’ call she needs to get her life in order.

There is a case here in Atlanta about a Mr. Eric Perteet, a man who told his wife that he was a doctor at Piedmont Hospital, but as it was discovered later, he was not a doctor and he basically lied about his entire life. After deserting his first wife and child in chicago, he moved to Atlanta and met Tammi Perteet, telling her he’d relocated to the area to start over after his parents and two sons were killed in a 2005 car crash in Arizona. Perteet also said he’d left behind a career in medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center and was working as a senior engineer at Georgia Power.

Tammi Perteet later learned that none of his story was true. Perteet’s parents are believed to be living in Chicago. He never worked as a doctor at the University of Chicago Medical Center. A spokeswoman says he never was employed at Georgia Power.

Now my thing is… how did this woman NOT know that her husband was not a real doctor? I saw a news segment on this story where she was very tearful and I felt sorry for her but I don’t understand how he could have gotten away with that for so long because:
1. She was dropping him off at the hospital everyday. If my husband is a doctor, why can’t he afford his own car?
2. Did it not occur to her that he wasn’t bring home a doctor’s salary? Apparently not only was he not a doctor, but he didn’t even work at the hospital period so didn’t she notice there wasn’t a paycheck coming in?

But then again, I suppose it’s easy for me to say that because I’m not in her shoes. I do feel bad for her though.. but still it’s hard to believe she didn’t know something was suspicious.
