Okay so I need another pair of black shoes like I need a hole in my head. And yet, on yesterday I bought another pair of black shoes to add to the 548,598 pair I already have. I was walking through the mall, minding my own business when all of a sudden these 3 1/2 inch heel, peep toe, sling back, black patented leather wedge shoes called out to me. I didn’t want to rude and just ignore them…

And I wore them to work today. Was looking cute for all of about 3 hours before I started getting that painful foot crunch ache near the ball of my foot. I hate it when shoes do that to me! Luckily I had a pair of stand-by shoes just in case my new shoes started to act up.

In other news, we saw The Color Purple last week and it was great! I really enjoyed it. The performers did a surperb job!

We finally saw The Dark Knight today and I really liked it, it was a great movie! To me it was totally unpredictable and I loved the elements of surprise. Everyone is hyped about Heath Ledger’s performance and I have to admit, it was a terrific performance. Without giving away too much, I’ll have to say The Joker was one of the most creepiest, evil and deranged villians I’ve seen in a movie in a long time. Kudos to Mr. Ledger for that performance. Such a tragedy we lost a great actor at his prime. In my opinion though, his Brokeback Mountain performance was just as great, if not better.

Got home on the DVR and watched “So You Think You Can Dance”. I LOOOOVE Joshua. I think he can win this thing, either him or Katee. It seems like no matter what style they are given, they keep bringing it every week. Will was pretty good last night too and wow does he have a strong dancer’s body!

On Monday I had one of THE worst travel days ever! It all really started on Sunday when we had all those bad storms come through south Atlanta. Well that triggered a lot of flights to be cancelled/ delayed at the airport. By Monday morning, many people were stranded at the airport because of cancelled flights. Well my flight to DC was supposed to be Monday morning so I could attend a national awards ceremony for today, where I was one of the award recipients. Because of all the delays, my flight was cancelled and rescheduled (without my knowledge) for today, which would have been too late for me to attend the ceremony. Thankfully one of my co workers who was also attending was able to get us new flights, at the last minute, so I ended up literally running to the airport to catch a new flight. The security lines were longer than I have ever seen them! For those of you familiar with the ATL Airport, the security lines were all the way back to baggage claim. So I make my way up to the checkpoint after standing in line for 30 minutes, only to realize that I didn’t have my boarding pass with me, all I had was my itinerary. I was fit to be tied! By this time it was 9:00am and my flight was leaving at 9:45. So I had to run back to a Delta kiosk, print out my boarding pass and get right back in that loooooong security line. By this time the line had eased up a bit, but it was still long. While I was standing in the line almost back to checkpoint, I realized I had dropped my driver’s license somewhere! What else could go wrong. I had to decide of I would get out of line, go searching for my license, and risk missing my plane, or if I should just worry about getting a new license when I got back. I decided to just go get a new license when I got back. Luckily I had my work ID on me so I could use that as identification. Well about 15 minutes later, I saw a TSA guy looking around with something in his hand and it appeared to be an ID, he looked at me, I looked at him and I just knew he had my license. I was so thankful I almost kissed him! Well now fast forward to me boarding the plane. By the time I got to the gate, boarding was almost over and I was sitting in my seat for less than 5 minutes before they closed the doors. That is the closest I have ever come to missing my flight.

Well, anyway so the awards ceremony was great, I managed to walk across the stage and not fall, which made it even better! The whole time I kept thinking, please-dont-fall-please-dont-fall, especially after watching the news last night where everybody kept showing Miss USA fall. The ceremony was televised so my co-workers and fellow employees all across the country were able to watch us being recognized for our accomplishments.

And now, I’m back home! After having of the worst travel days ever. Home sweet home.

This sign is outside the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar in Paulding County, Georgia:

Owner, Patrick Lonzo says “…he has no regrets, no apologies… and that they’re still entitled to put their own sign up, if it offends them, fine, in the United States we still have free speech, the only thing that hasn’t been taken from us”

When asked if he is a racist, he says “No, I believe in your right or my right to say whatever you want without being critized as a racist”.

He is delusional if he thinks that he is not racist. I agree that we are all entitled to free speech and he should be able to say whatever he wants but he should also at least own up to his bigotry like a man. How dare you compare Senator Obama to a monkey and then turn around and say you aren’t racist.

Some of my Georgia readers may recall this is the same guy who had the sign up several years ago when Michael Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges:
“Was Michael Jackson acquitted because he is a n*gger or a monkey?”

Yet, Mr. Lonzo says he’s not racist. The man doth protest too much.

I haven’t done a single thing since I got home from work on Thursday evening. I’ve had a small migraine for a couple of days now so I’ve been trying to just take it easy. No traditional 4th of July celebrations for me this year. Just peace and quiet. But that’s not so bad because I’ve been able to catch up on some shows from the DVR and I also watched 3 movies: The Queen, Hairspray, and The Hitcher. The Queen actually turned out to be better than I expected. But what I wasn’t expecting was the way the Queen was portrayed as having a nasty attitude towards Princess Diana. No wonder Diana wanted to separate herself from the Royal Family. The Hitcher was mostly just blood and gore but it was entertaining. Hairspray was good too. And guess who I saw while watching it? Twitch from So You Think You Can Dance.

And speaking of So You Think You can Dance, it is one of my favorite reality shows on right now. My favorite dancers are Joshua and Katee.

Also, guess who was just browsing through ticketmaster and managed to get 6th row tickets to see The Color Purple when it comes to Atlanta?? MEEEEEE! *Happy Dance* I’m so surprised because when I tried several months ago to get tickets, all I kept coming up with were crappy nose bled seats and I refuse to pay big money for crappy seats. Plus, I’m short and I have bad eyesight. I need to be close enough to the stage to be able to actually see the performers.
